Taking A Step Towards Africa: Hope & Action
Confront the reality of HIV/AIDS in Africa - discover what can be done about the crisis and gain a vision for Africa. Your heart will be touched in new ways.
Your understanding will grow beyond the myths and clichés. You will know AIDS victims as real people. You will meet people who have had first-hand experience with the disease. Together, we can make a difference in the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa. The Global AIDS crisis, according to the World Health Organization, will be the dominate Global health concern for the entire 21st century. It's not just something on the other side of the globe, it is a crisis that includes our own Boulder County. The Boulder County AIDS Project will also be participating in the course helping us gain an understanding of the growing crisis in the US and how that relates to Africa and other hot spots around the world like Russia, China, and India. We hope to gain new ideas for expanding our vision to Educate, Communicate and Take Action. Led by Nancy Nangle and the AIDS Task Force.
December 7 ~ PCUSA General Assembly ~ Join Dan Saperstein, Executive Presbyter, as he presents information on the PCUSA General Assembly meeting. Meets in the Choir Room.
Coming in January 2009
“God is Closer Than You Think”
What are you waiting for? Intimacy with God can happen right now if you want it. A closeness you can feel, a goodness you can taste, a reality you can experience for yourself. That’s what the Bible promises, so why settle for less? God is closer than you think, and connecting with him isn’t only for monks and ascetics. It’s for business people, high school students, busy moms, single men, single women… and most important, it’s for YOU. Led by Anne Scheiber in the West Dining Room.
